Physical Body Reflection Exercise - Pt.2

Where do you start when doing the body reflection exercise?

You start where your existence in this realm began.  This will vary depending on your religious/spiritual beliefs.  It can range from the belief of a prior life to some aspect of the process of conception.  The primary focus wherever you start in this process is to explore how you "compared" to the status quo developmentally while your mother was pregnant with you.  Were you considered within "normal" range?  How much of your mother's pregnancy stories about you do you know?  Were there challenges during the pregnancy for you or your mother? (i.e. gestational diabetes, irregularities in the tests done on your development during that time, etc.).  Was it considered an "uneventful" pregnancy?  Was it one that family members have talked about a lot over the years or not much at all?

I had a girlfriend who shared that her mother took two years to get pregnant with her.  She is her mother's first child.  During the pregnancy, the mother used to trip a lot, particularly when walking on stairs.  This caused such concern for her father that he had them move to a building with an elevator in fear that her mother might miscarry from all of these falls.  She was described as a "very active" baby and therefore the doctors believed her mother was carrying a baby boy (this was before there was modern technology to find out ahead of time).  Her mother was very excited as she really wanted a boy.  Throughout my friend's live she would hear stories of how her mother just knew she was originally a boy baby as the doctors had said, and wondered how my girlfriend turned out to become a girl at birth.  Her mother would share stories of some morning sickness and how traumatic the pregnancy was, although there were never any real details.

When beginning the body reflection exercises, you may ask yourself how far back in the womb would you start and what might you inquire about?  Visit www.MutsMer.com for more information.
